Peanut butter bliss balls are a quick and easy healthy snack with just 4 ingredients. They are vegan, gluten-free, have no added sugar and are perfect for meal prep!
You might already know about my love for bliss balls - from these decadent chocolate bliss balls to these fruity and delicious apricot bliss balls.
Bliss balls are the perfect snack for SO many different occasions. I've personally enjoyed them as a snack pre-workout, post-workout, after-dinner dessert, road trip snack, and as a go-to midday snack.
These peanut butter bliss balls have become a quick fan favorite among family and friends and for good reason - they have the most decadent texture and are naturally sweet.
What are bliss balls?
Bliss balls are very similar to energy bites or energy balls. Different name, but same idea - to give you energy (and bliss!) when you need it most. These peanut butter bliss balls are quick and easy to make (less than 10 minutes!) and have only 4 ingredients, so you don't have to raid your entire pantry looking for ingredients.
They are a great option for meal prep because you can store and enjoy them at any time, and can even freeze them to enjoy at a much later date. These peanut butter bliss balls are made with whole food ingredients like peanut butter, Medjool dates, hemp seeds, and shredded coconut.
Are bliss balls healthy?
Bliss balls are a healthy, filling, nutrient-dense snack. These peanut butter bliss balls are naturally sweetened with Medjool dates, which provide fiber, antioxidants, and nutrients such as copper, potassium, vitamin B6, magnesium, calcium, and iron. A serving of 2 Medjool dates provides 3.2 grams of fiber, which can help you meet up to 12% of your daily fiber needs (source)!
These bliss balls are packed with plant-based protein from the hemp seeds and peanut butter. Not only that, but these healthy seeds and nut butter are loaded with heart-healthy fats, which help you stay full and satiated, making these bliss balls a filling and satisfying snack.
Plus, these peanut butter bliss balls are vegan, gluten-free, and have no added sugar, so they're great for anyone with certain dietary restrictions.
Ingredients
- Peanut butter: This pantry staple is a daily go-to in my kitchen. I prefer buying peanut butter in which peanuts are the only ingredient (to avoid any unnecessary added sugar or oils that are often added to peanut butter).
- Medjool dates: Help sweeten the bliss balls without any added sugar.
- Shredded coconut: Helps add texture and a natural sweetness to the bliss balls.
- Hemp seeds: These tiny seeds are a nutritional powerhouse and a good source of protein! One 1-ounce serving of hemp seeds provides 2 grams of fiber, 9 grams of protein, and is an excellent source of vitamin E, magnesium, zinc, and iron.
How to Make Peanut Butter Bliss Balls
All you need to make these bliss balls is a food processor and 4 ingredients: peanut butter, Medjool dates, shredded coconut, and hemp seeds.
Place all of the ingredients in a food processor and process on high for a few minutes. Use a flapula or spoon to push the contents down if needed. You'll know it is done processing when the mixture is well-combined. It should easily form a paste when pressed with your thumb and forefinger.
Use a spoon to scoop out bite-sized balls onto a large plate. Then, roll the mixture into bite-sized balls with your hands. This recipe should make about 16 bliss balls.
Storage Tips
These bite-sized bliss balls are a great meal prep snack option because they take just a few minutes and are so easy to store.
How long do bliss balls last in the fridge?
You can store these peanut butter bliss balls in the fridge for up to 5 days in an airtight container. If you want to store them longer, you can store them in the freezer.
Can you freeze bliss balls?
You can store bliss balls in the freezer for 2-3 months in an airtight container. They might be harder in texture if stored in the freezer, so let them warm up in room temperature for 10 minutes before eating them if you prefer a softer texture.

The peanut butter can be substituted for nut butters of choice for different flavor profiles, and I bet they'd be really delicious if they were dipped in chocolate...
